ChemotherapyChemotherapy is a general term for any treatment involving the use of chemical agents to stop cancer cells from growing. More than half of all people diagnosed with cancer receive chemotherapy. Many people fear chemotherapy because of the potentially uncomfortable side effects. Side effect management has come a long way and many associated side effects can be prevented or controlled. Additionally, with some types of chemotherapy, you may only experience minimal side effects.

Radioimmunotherapy (RIT)When your body detects a pathogen (something that does not belong), one way it eliminates the threat is to produce antibodies that bind to the protein shapes that are specific to the pathogen. RIT agents are man-made antibodies with different radiation components attached. These antibodies are designed to bind to a protein and deliver the radiation to a specific type of cell, thus killing the cancer cell.

Oncology PharmacyHorizon Oncology Center has an on-site pharmacy which helps eliminate the hassle of getting your prescriptions filled. Patients now have the ability to fill their prescriptions while visiting our office.
