I've learned that if one takes the time to "listen and learn about" their patients, one will be able to provide individual care and meet the patients/families' needs to the best of your ability. Taking time to "explain information allows the patient/families to dispel any "myths" that might exist. Preventing or managing symptoms early on is key.

At Horizon Oncology Center, I try to make a difference in patients' lives by respecting them as individuals with unique needs and providing compassionate, quality care base on these needs.

What’s the favorite part of your job at HOC and why? I enjoy seeing the patients at various phases throughout their cancer journey... diagnosis, treatment, post-treatment. It allows me to support them through different experiences and challenges me to continually evaluate what type of care provides the most benefit to the patient.
Why did you become a cancer nurse, technician or employee? To continually learn about cancer while caring for those with it. Cancer research is always changing Cancer care. It's exciting to be a part of this while being honored to care for those who have cancer.
Note to Family and Friends I continually learn something new each day about life and courage from my patients.
"Thank you"!
