Patient Care

The Horizon Oncology staff believes knowledge is an important tool needed in preventing and managing problems that you or your family might face. We are dedicated to bringing together people and resources to inform you and your family/friends about your disease, it’s treatment and ways to prevent /resolve side effects and symptoms.                  

Individual educational sessions will be provided to prepare you for everyday changes in your life that may come from your treatment and disease. We will also inform you about any research that may be available. A scheduled session with our Advanced Practice Nurses and Patient Representative will be provided.

KAREN JAWORSKI-SEMYEN, RN, MSN, AOCN

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Karen Jaworski-Semyen, an Advanced Practice Nurse, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist.  Karen received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Indiana University School of Nursing and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Saint Mary’s College. She is an “AOCN,” Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse.

As an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse, Karen coordinates your plan of care, assists you and your family to understand the diagnosis, treatment and management of symptoms and side effects. She will provide you with written materials and put you in touch with resources to help support you and answer your questions. Karen may also see you in Clinic during your treatment.
